Trusses Can Be A Good Option For Your House

When you are building your new house, you want to make sure that you are building the strongest house possible. This starts at your roof and goes all the way down. One way to make sure that you have a good, strong roof is to have trusses installed instead of having rafters or some other roof support put on your house. Not everyone is familiar with trusses and the benefits from using them for your house.

Trusses are a large triangular structure that are made up of other, smaller triangles. The reason to use triangles is that they distribute the weight evenly and are stronger than other shapes. Each triangle reinforces the other triangles until you get to the largest triangle, which is the final truss. All those reinforced triangles inside the truss give it a solid interior structure and make it solid. It won't twist or buckle because of all that interior reinforcement. So, what are some reasons to use trusses on your house?

One reason to use trusses is that they can help your houses strength when it comes to severe weather. If you live in an area that is prone to tornadoes or hurricanes, you want to have something like trusses that will make your roof stronger. Since you tend to have more trusses than rafters on your house, you are going to have more tie down points between the roof and frame of your house. Those additional tie down points will make your entire house stronger and more likely to survive severe storms, especially if you use tie downs that are rated for tornado or hurricanes.

Roof Weight

If you want to have a heavy roofing material, like slate or tile, you are going to need something that will support all of that weight. A roof with trusses can do that because of the way they are built and the way that they carry weight. If you live in an area that gets a lot of snow during the winter, you want to have something that can support a lot of weight because snow can get really heavy. Trusses will help with that issue.

If you are building your new house, you will want to make sure that it is as strong as possible. Having trusses installed as the support for your roof can help fix that issue, and give you a strong house.
